With Jon in L.A. this weekend...wait, did I post about that before? I think so. Jon went to L.A. for a tattoo convention this weekend. His mom went to Dallas to help her sister, whose husband is in the hospital recovering from open heart surgery. It was just Evelyn and I all weekend.
Although it was a little cold and overcast all weekend, it was still nice. Our little container garden has survived a few hard frosts (and a few big snowstorms!) through our bring-it-into-the-garage-at-night method. We even have buds!

See our bok choy and carrots growing up? Soon we'll need to thin the growth.
We also have soybeans emerging from the dirt.

On Saturday morning, Evelyn and I participated in the neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt. There were three yards set up for the hunt, divided by age. They surrounded our yard. Evelyn and I were in the Under Two yard where she was the youngest one there, but definitely the cutest.
Here we are preparing for the hunt, getting the rules, looking adorable. We found an egg! Huzzah!
After the egg hunt, and throwing the egg on the sidewalk so certain mothers couldn't eat the jelly beans inside, it was off to the zoo to meet my aunt and cousin. Here's Joey, Evelyn, and a very big gorilla.
Evelyn is very close to crawling.I decided while Jon was away I needed a craft project. I decided upon, purchased the materials for, and completed my first doll! It is full of mistakes. It is rough. But it is also cute.
The hem and flowers. I was going to stitch "2009" into the body or the dress or somewhere, but I forgot. And then it was too late to find a good spot. The dress comes off and I suppose I could make her a whole wardrobe.
The face. She needs a good pair of tweezers. Also a hair bow or something.

On Easter day we went to my aunt's house for dinner. I have no pictures, but the ham was delicious.
So the weekend was busy, exhausting, and fun. I woke up this morning and could not AT ALL get out of bed and go to work. The idea of getting up, working all day, and then coming home and taking care of Evelyn was too much. So I decided to work from home so I could sleep in another hour. I may take a nap over lunch as well.

Happy Easter. Your doll is very cute. Is she for cute you or for your cute daughter? Love, MOM
