Evelyn takes the best pictures when Jon is the photographer. She looooooves her dad, and alwys stares right at him! You can see the pictures as larger imagines if you click on them. Then you can also see Evelyn's still-so-blue-we-can-hardly-believe-it eyes. Seriously. I guess we're going to have a blue eyed daughter!
The only other news is that I finally made it to the asian market this weekend and finally got to try my hand at Thai food. I made some Pad See Ew with chicken and broccoli. It was good, but not exactly what I would get at a restaurant. The recipe calls for sweet black soy sauce, which I bought, but there are SO many different kinds of soy sauces at the market that I don't know if I got the right one. It wasn't quite sweet enough, so next time I will add a touch more sugar. It was fun, though, to use all the crazy sauces we have in our cupboard. Oyster sauce, fish sauce, thin soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, rice vinegar. Tasty!
Oh, the other other news is that we had a HUGE storm this weekend. Thursday, Friday and Saturday we got rain, the snow, then rain, then snow. It was weird. It was literally like, "west of the freeway, you're gonna get snow; east of the freeway, you're gonna get rain." It was just a matter of elevation. Our house is slightly higher in elevation than downtown, west of the freeway, and we got over a foot of heavy, wet, spring snow. It is the heaviest show I have ever shoveled in my entire life. Like shoveling water. Thanks to our neighbor who used his snowblower on our sidewalk and driveway! We got more precipitation in this last storm than we had the first three months of the year. And that includes the last huge snowstorm!
Love spring!
