Saturday I had to get Evelyn a new car seat. She has outgrown her last one, even if she techincally fits into the "30 inches or 30 pounds" recommendation. Maybe for skinny babies! But Evelyn is tall and large. I don't know what she weighs, but I'm guessing well over 20 pounds, and when I measured her on Friday, I got 28.5 inches. Big. All of which is to say that she has outgrown the infant car seat and must now ride in a convertible car seat. It's a shame, really, since it was so easy to get her in and out of the car in that infant seat, especially if she had fallen asleep. Double shame because the convertible car seats are giant and do not fit in the back of our Ford Focus hatchback. But that is a problem for another day.
At one point on Saturday, Evelyn was very hungry. She insisted on grabbing the bowl and eating out of it herself. Apparently this is the only way to eat raspberry-glazed turkey and vegetables dinner. She is very opinionated. And busy. And squirmy. And STRONG.

She is hitting some delightful developmental milestones, including getting upset when you take something away from her. Oh yes, and getting upset if you leave the room, which I suppose is just a twist on the first one. She also says, "mama mamama ma" a lot now. I know she isn't calling for her mama, but it doesn't stop me from projecting. "Oh, you want your mother? OK. Mama is here." Nor does it stop Jon from saying, "She wants her mother. Here." It's a fun game.
At another point this weekend, Evelyn and Tucker took a repose on the living room floor. Best of friends. Or maybe Tucker was just taken off his guard by Evelyn's ridiculous clown-inspired pajama outfit. Most likely, he saw the myriad toys strewn about the ground and figured there had to be food in there somewhere!

Overall I think we just rested and relaxed this weekend. Although I don't feel rested and relaxed this Monday morning. The coming weekend will be neither restful nor relaxing as we head to Utah for a fun-filled weekend with the Tanner clan. I am so looking forward to seeing everyone. Evelyn can't wait to meet her aunts.
